Co-Founder & Creative Director

Ferris Leathery

Ferris is a professionally trained actress, comedian and writer with a passion for making people smile. She studied Film and Television at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts where she dedicated an extra year to Theater training. Comedy is her niche, and she made a bold entrance into the scene- her first stand up performance was in front of 900 people & her first professional show took place at the legendary Dangerfield's Comedy Club on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Ferris Lived in New York city for seven years, fully immersing herslef in the industry while honing her craft. She has been auditioning and performing since 2013 and remains actively engaged in the performing arts world- constantly submitting to auditions, writing and staying in tune with industry happenings. She has performed in full-length plays, sketch comedy, improv, stand-up and short films. She's also a writer crafting screen plays, TV scripts, books and poetry.

Beyond entertainment, Ferris has a diverse background- she's worked extensively with children, spent (too many) years in the dental field specializing in orthodontics, and even coached cycling and accountability clients. When she's not performing or writing, she can be found playing sports, flying planes, soaking up the sun at the beach or spending time in Del Mar, where she lives.

Mellisa Leathery

Mellisa brings a unique blend of business strategy, creative passion, and community-minded leadership to MF. With a background in marketing and business administration, she’s currently pursuing her MBA while applying her skills to help build accessible, high-quality programs that empower young artists and families alike.

As a former Marine and a lifelong learner, Mellisa is deeply committed to creating spaces where creativity and collaboration thrive. Her entrepreneurial spirit, combined with a heart for service, fuels her mission to make MF more than just a program—it’s a movement for connection, expression, and growth.

Director of Marketing & Design

Alisha Leathery

Alisha's ability to visually represent MF's brand is a huge component of our success. She understands that as a graphic designer, it is her responsibility to translate complex ideas into easily understandable visuals, ensuring that all marketing messages are clear and impactful to our target audience.

She received a B.F.A in Art + Design and a B.A in Communication with a focus in Media Studies. Combining these skills she's able to manage our social media platforms, coordinate marketing campaigns and help our clients create their own "identity" within such a demanding field. She constantly stays up to date with current and ever-changing design trends.

In her spare time, Alisha is often recipe testing or walking her rescue pups. She has dedicated many hours to volunteering with various animal shelters.

Currently residing in the DMV she serves as our bridge to the East Coast. She believes the best way to learn is by doing - so you might as well make it fun!
